I am grateful and proud to have received the Unsung Hero award from my coworkers. This demonstrates that what I've been doing to become a good teacher is noticeable. It means that not only have the others accepted me as a good colleague but that I also do a good job for the school.

Someone may think that being a teacher is simple. When you consider speaking the same thing for an entire day, every year...yes, it is! When I wasn't a MUIDS teacher, I might have agreed with you. However, my perspective has shifted slightly over the years I've been teaching at MUIDS. Observing my colleagues enhanced my teaching experiences. Many of my coworkers are experienced teachers who have taught in a variety of settings for many years. Many good teaching pedagogies and techniques were demonstrated at the school's professional development seminar. I've been incorporating some of them into my classes to help me develop my lessons. Because my primary goal is to incorporate more student-centered teaching into the classroom, I discovered that many techniques assisted me in meeting my objectives very well.
