Goal Setting 2023/2024
-
Area/ Topic to Be Addressed
WASC accreditation

-
Where I am now?
This year, the school needs to re-license the WASC accreditation. My team's goal are to analyze and respond to all the Category C Indicators (Support for Student Personal and Academic Growth). The team needs to review the existing action plan, so we all know where we're headed, and look at the work produced by the other Category groups to ensure involvement in the whole process.

-
Goal Statement (My desired results)
-
The team must review progress on items in the Action plan and Self Study Report to complete WASC Category C tasks and review objectives, tasks, and materials.

-
Activities I will use to accomplish my goal
I am attending all team meetings, sharing, and discussing to complete Category C effectively.
Accomplishments at Year End
Meet the goals

1. There were 5 meetings for the WASC planning.
-
We located the corresponding indicator in the 2020 template.
-
We added the indicators from the 2017 report to the 2020 template.
-
We copied the ‘Findings’ narrative and the ‘Evidence’ list from the 2017 Report to the new 2020 template. We annotated the text. Struck out/circled outdated details.
-
We commented on any area of the prompt that we have knowledge of. We added questions to clarify terms or evidence we did not understand.
2. My professional portfolio is selected to be an example of the teacher's profession.

Teachers' Annual performance Review of the school year of 2023/2024
Observed by
Dr. Stephen C., Deputy Director of Academics for MUIDS
Focus of Observation: Increase engagement in lecture's classroom
November 1, 2023

Observation: This was an observation of an 11 th grade Marketing class. The objective of the day was for students to be able to learn and identify the elements of branding, including understanding the benefits of having a strong brand. There were 26 students in the class: 16 girls
and 10 boys. During the whole-class lecture 6 boys and 4 girls participated, all through volunteering answers. 2 of the boys and 2 of the girls made multiple contributions. There were no tardy students, but 2 students were falling asleep during the class; they woke up and paid
attention when prompted by their classmates.

Commendations:
-
Your opening “test” to determine if they recognize brands was a good warmup, and an engaging way to get them introduced to what ended up being a pretty detailed lecture. Helping students see the real-world relevance in the content we are delivering is always
important, even more so since students are in the process of building their own brands for the Wednesday market. -
I especially like that you showed the evolution of company logos over time, including explaining how names came out (I did not know the origin of Samsung, for instance…very interesting). It is good for students to see companies as evolving entities, which includes branding which also evolves to meet the expectations of changing generations.
-
Having the previous students’ work available from previous years is a really valuable resource for students to access while they put together their own business models. As this class goes from year to year these examples can build, so it might be good at some
point to start pulling out exemplars, so that the students can hone in on the best works from former students.
