Goal Setting 2021/2022

  • Area/ Topic to Be Addressed
    Hybrid Learning

  • Where I am now?
MUIDS has continued full online learning during its high-awareness regulation until it began the Hybrid learning plan in the context of COVID-19, which is continuing to disrupt the school's plan to operate regularly. MUIDS teachers had to change their current plans in order to prepare for the hybrid learning system, which must accommodate both online and offline classrooms at the same time. Furthermore, the group rotating plan, in which students were divided into two groups and rotated to school every other week, has created a new challenge for both teachers and students. In my case, I had been experimenting with various methods in order to provide the best instruction in my classrooms.

  • Goal Statement (My desired results)
Students can continue to learn under ever-changing circumstances.

  • Activities I will use to accomplish my goal

  1. Modify current instructional design and materials to accommodate hybrid learning,

  2. Upskill and reskill in preparation for the new normal of learning.

Accomplishments at Year End

Meet the goals

The school has organized professional development sessions for teachers to share their concerns, solutions, and ideas about the Hybrid learning challenge. This enabled me to upskill and reskill myself in order to best meet the needs and necessities of the school's context.

In addition, I had the opportunity to attend a public seminar to refresh my knowledge of educational strategies. The EdTech SU webinar on Educational Innovation and Technology by the faculty of Educational Technology, Silpakorn University was about "The design strategy for modern media integration and research approaches in educational technology in the changing era."

Teachers' Annual performance Review of the school year of 2021/2022

Observed by

Dr. Stephen C., Deputy Director of Academics for MUIDS

Focus of Observation: Hybrid Learning

January 27, 2022

Observation: This was an observation of an 11 th grade Marketing class. The objective for the day was for students to be able to take an examination on their understanding of pricing strategies. There were 10 students in the classroom and 12 streaming from online. All students took part in the exam without issue. There were no tardy students nor any behavior concerns. [Note: this is a hybrid class, with some of the students online and some in person]

Commendations:

  • overall, a reasonable split between interacting with students in person and those who were online was achieved.

  • Your expectations for students using cameras was appropriate and fair, particularly considering the examination going on. We need to be able to see a student’s full face during these types of assessments (and for instruction in general), as that will help us
monitor for where their attention is at any one time.

  • It was another good move to provide clarity to your students before beginning the examination rather than needing to answer student questions during the exam, which could lead to greater disruption during the exam itself.

  • I found your use of our online tools (Google Suite) to be effective, especially given the challenges of the hybrid model. It is a good way to disseminate information but also, as you know, a good way to collect student submissions.
